TWELVE yachts are expected to participate in races from Hong
Kong to Vietnam on October 17 and 18.
The races will commence on October 17 at 1215 hours
with three yachts and on October 18 at 1315 hours with nine yachts at a place
off the Causeway Bay typhoon shelter. The race will follow an easterly
route through the harbour, Tathong Channel and Waglan Island, and then head onwards
to Vietnam, reported GAC.
Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels
navigating in the vicinity of the race route should proceed with caution,
giving practical consideration to the contestants. Compliance with the
provisions of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972
is mandatory, according to Hong Kong Marine Department.
