[EN-AIR] "Lufthansa" Pilots Strike Next Week

The Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) union has called on Lufthansa pilots to take part in a four-day strike from Monday 22nd to Thursday 25th of February.
The strike, which will reportedly cost the airline around €100 million, affects Lufthansa Passenger Airline and subsidiaries Germanwings and Lufthansa Cargo.

Lufthansa Cargo says it will be able operate more than 90% of its freighter operations during this time.

Altogether, of the 31 flights scheduled during that period, four flights on Monday, all flights on Tuesday and Wednesday, and five flights on Thursday will depart as scheduled.

The first two flights on Monday will depart early, and four of Thursday's flights will be delayed.

Two flights will be cancelled:

• Monday 22nd - flight LH8412 from Frankfurt to Madras via Bangalore

• Thursday's 25th - flight LH8468 from Frankfurt to Hong Kong via Bahrain and Sharjah

The union is protesting against Lufthansa's plans to transfer jobs from Germany to recently acquired - and lower-paying - subsidiaries.
