Manila: Malaysia-based, publicly traded shipping company HUBLine Berhad plans to start its Guam service on May 23.
A HUBLine container ship, with a capacity for 1,000 containers, will provide a Hong Kong-Manila-Guam biweekly service, said Dan Baterna, the new general manager for HUBLine's Guam office, according to Pacific Daily News.
HUBLine's direct Guam-Manila connection means it will take just five days to ship from Manila to Guam by sea, Baterna said.
Construction materials, heavy equipment and food products are among items commonly transported from Asia to Guam, Baterna said. [29/04/10]
