[090711.EN.SEA] Asia To North Europe Carrier Statistics Show Poor Performance In May

ASIA-to-north Europe carrier statistics from the Container Trade Statistics show that westbound cargo reached 785,377 TEU in May - usually a good month - compared to 769,518 TEU in April and 774,241 TEU in March.

May's eastbound cargo flow reached 336,077 TEU compared to 351,158 TEU in April and 394,124 TEU in March. Eastbound all-in dry cargo rates also continued to fall, with May's average being another 1.18 per cent lower than April's, reaching 84 per cent 2008's full-year average.
