[170913.EN.SEA] UASC Joins CSCL's China-Thailand-Japan Loop, Replaces Gold Star Ship

UNITED Arab Shipping Company (UASC) is launching a new intra-Asia service connecting Japan, South Korea, China and Thailand by joining CSCL's China, Thailand, Japan (CTJ) service that has until now been operated with Gold Star Line.

UASC is branding the service IAC1, which has a port rotation of Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Busan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shenzhen-Shekou, Laem Chabang, Guangzhou-Nansha, Hong Kong, -Shenzhen-Shekou, Xiamen and back to Tokyo.

The Arab shipping line will provide one ship to operate the 2,586-TEU Thomas Mann which it has chartered, which will run alongside three 2,550-TEU ships operated by CSCL ships on the service. The UASC ship replaces Gold Star Line's 3,351-TEU China Star, reports Alphaliner.

The first sailing with UASC's cooperation is scheduled for September 21. Its vessel will join the service in Busan on October 12.
