TAIWAN's Evergreen Line and Duba's Simatech Shipping are expanding intra-Asia co-operation with a new joint service linking China, south east Asia and India.
The service will involve Hamburg Sud as a slot buyer and will deploy six ships in the 2,100-TEU range with Evergreen and Simatech each providing three.
With the Evergreen-Simatech slot buying deal, Hamburg Sud is withdrawing from a similar arrangement with MOL and Samudera Shipping Line in the same trade, reported London's Containerisation International.
But its arrangement with Thailand's Regional Container Lines (RCL), the Sea Consortium Group and Wan Hai Lines still stands, thus preserving the Hamburg-based line's twice a week service offering in key corridors, such as Shanghai-Nhava Sheva and Colombo-Singapore.
The new Evergreen-Simatech service rotation will be Xingang, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), Port Klang, Nhava Sheva, Karachi, Colombo, Port Klang, PTP, Singapore and back to Xingang.
