"The agreement covers all ocean freight activities and LCL/FCL and breakbulk cargo, giving Agility unprecedented access to the complete infrastructure of SIPGL," the company said.
This includes depot management, vessel planning and loading, trucking, door-to-port and port-to-door, container freight station warehousing, brokerage, booking agency and port handling, said the Agility release.
"As the sole port operator in Shanghai and for all Yangtze River ports, SIPGL gives Agility increased access and the ability to offer services covering Shanghai, Jiangsu, Hebei, Anhui and Chongqing," said the company.
"We are delighted to embark on this strategic partnership with Shanghai International Port Group Logistics," said Agility East China managing director Thomas Gronen.
"We have seen a significant increase in demand for our ocean freight services across China. This partnership provides us with an improved platform from which we can better serve our customers in East China," he said.
