TAIWAN's
Evergreen Marine
reversed itself out of last year's loss of TWD4.59 billion, by posting
a first
quarter net profit of TWD168.9 million (US$5.6 million), drawn on
quarterly revenues of TWD33.8 billion, up 18.3 per cent year on year.
During
the first quarter of 2016, Evergreen Line was a member of the CKYHE
Alliance, which also included Cosco, "K" Line, Yang Ming and
the defunct Hanjin Shipping.
Since
then, Evergreen joined the OCEAN Alliance, which includes CMA
CGM, its unit, APL, as well as Cosco and Hong Kong's OOCL,
notes American Shipper.
According
to ocean carrier schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting's Carrier
Ranking tool, Evergreen Line has the sixth largest operating fleet with
a total capacity of 1.02 million TEU.
