ST
PETERSBURG's Solvo Integrated Management Solutions has provided the terminal
operating system (TOS) to start container operations at the Bronka
Multipurpose Sea Cargo Complex (MSCC Bronka) in St Petersburg.
MSCC
Bronka's three facilities, a logistics centre, container and ro-ro terminal,
are expected to make the complex one of the key cargo shipping areas in St
Petersburg, with an annual capacity of 1.9 million TEU at full build out.
The
greenfield terminals are said to handle 1.45 million TEU, 260,000 ro-ro cargo
units, and can accommodate postpanamax class containerships, reported St
Petersburg's PortNews..
MSCC
Bronka's container terminal has four postpanamax berth cranes, an LHM-800
port mobile crane, 10 RTG cranes, terminal tractors, reachstackers, and
forklifts.
Negotiations
between Solvo and Bronka Port representatives started five years ago before the
terminal was built.
Consultation
and expert support for MSCC Bronka was provided by the
German company Hamburg Port Consulting GmbH (HPC), while software deployment
was carried out by Solvo in its role as the general contractor for related
hardware and infrastructural works.
In
its role, Solvo carried out wireless network deployment and development of a
gateway between TOS and third party hardware and software. Its TOS has taken
into account the specifics of MSCC Bronka's yard, vessel, rail and road
transport processing, with features such as a web portal for cargo forwarders
and shipping line agents, a terminal equipment management module, automatic
tracking of empty and unnumbered containers, reefer container storage zone
management and customs integration.
