SOME 1,650 Canadian Pacific Railway workers represented
by the Uniform union have voted 97 per cent to strike on February 15 strike if
contract demands are not met by the company, reports Reuters.
The union said talks have been challenging, in part
because of "excessive disciplinary measures in the workplace".
Said CP: "CP looks to reach a negotiated settlement
and talks continue." The union contract expired on December 31. Unifor is
Canada's biggest private sector union.
