Davies Turner Plc has jumped 42
places to the 119th position in the latest Sunday Times PwC Top Track 250 league table, reports Intermodal News.
"This
significant improvement in our ranking recognises not only our strong financial
performance but the importance of our continuing focus on responding to
ever-evolving customer needs, and developing our service portfolio and overseas
network," said Davies Turner chairman Philip Stephenson.
"As
mid-market private businesses, Top Track 250 companies are an important engine
of the UK economy and this year's cohort had combined sales of almost GBP60
billion (US$77.8 billion). These companies are predominantly owned by
entrepreneurs, private equity firms, and family holdings. It's a prestigious
club to be in," said Mr Stephenson.
The
climb to the Top Track 250 table follows Davies Turner's earlier success in the
British International Freight Association's (BIFA) Freight Service Awards, with
Davies Turner winning gold in the European Logistics category.
"This
year, we were due to celebrate our 150th anniversary but the outbreak of the
pandemic followed by lockdown, has meant postponing those celebrations
temporarily," said Mr Stephenson.
"Achievements
like those outlined above demonstrate how our focus on sustainable and
profitable growth remains central to Davies Turner's 150-year success under the
same independent ownership," said Mr Stephenson.
"There
will be more innovations and more progress to come as we develop our network
and systems to help clients old and new with the management of their supply
chains in combatting the effects of Covid-19. At the same time our teams are
maintaining preparedness, recruitment, and training for the end of the Brexit
Transition Period on December 31, 2020," said Mr Stephenson
"Our
latest appearance in the Sunday Times PwC Top Track 250 league table gives the
company a Unique Selling Point in the market, which has been a characteristic
of Davies Turner's development and resilience throughout its 150 years."
