[EN-SEA] Finalists Announced for BIFA Freight Services Awards

THE "British International Freight Association" (BIFA) has announced that seven first-time entrants have made it to the shortlist of 30 finalists for the BIFA Freight Services Awards.

"I applaud all those companies that have taken the time and effort to put themselves forwards for an award," said BIFA director general Peter Quantrill.

"In these difficult times, we were a little worried companies could not afford the time. Therefore, it is pleasing and encouraging that so many in the UK forwarding fraternity took the trouble," he said.

The seven first-time entrant finalists are : Activair (UK), Bellville Rodair International Ltd, Eagle Cargo Services, NNR Global Logistics UK Ltd, TR Logistics Group, Gist Ltd, and Pantos Logistics (UK) Ltd.

The companies that reached the final shortlist in the eight main award categories are: Activair (UK) and Chaucer Freight Ltd for the Air Freight Award; Dachser Ltd, DSV Road, GEFCO UK Ltd, and WE Deane Ltd for the European Logistics Award; and Eagle Cargo Services Ltd, Ideal Forwarding Ltd, PFE Express Ltd, and Woodland International Transport Co Ltd for the Ocean Freight Award.

The finalists for the Project Forwarding Award are Asco Freight Management Ltd, Brendon International Ltd, Panalpina World Transport Ltd, and RIF Worldwide; and the finalists for the Special Services Award are Belville Rodair International Ltd, NNR Global Logistics UK Ltd, TR Logistics Group, and Woodland International Transport Co Ltd.

The finalists for the Staff Development Award are: Gist Ltd, GKN Freight Services Ltd, Schenker Ltd, and World Transport Agency; and the finalists for the Supply Chain Management Award are: Allport, NYK Group Europe, Pantos Logistics (UK) Ltd, and Seawing Landguard International Ltd.

Finally, the Young Freight Forwarder Award finalists are: Sharon Brough from Seko Synergy Scotland Ltd, James Crosby from Damco UK Ltd, Samantha Mitchell from World Transport Agency Ltd and Michael Walton from Schenker Ltd.

The award winners will be announced at the BIFA Annual Lunch and Awards Ceremony to be held at The Brewery, London EC1 on January 21.
