KOREA's Hanjin Shipping is adding three new intra-Asia
container shipping service from China and Japan to Indonesia this month and next
amid grow demand and rapid economic development.
The New China-Indonesia (NCI) will be launched on April 3
from Qingdao and will be jointly operated with TS Lines and KMTC on a weekly
basis, deploying four 2,500-TEU ships provided by the partner carriers, a
statement said.
The NCI calls at the ports of Qingdao, Incheon, Busan,
Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shenzhen-Shekou, Singapore, Jakarta, Shenzhen-Shekou, Hong
Kong and back to Qingdao.
In addition, the carrier is commencing the
Japan-Indonesia Service (JIS) and Japan Indonesia Express (JIE). Both JIS and
JIE are jointly operated by NYK and "K" Line. Hanjin Shipping said it
will participate in the services through a container slot exchange programme.
The existing JIS will be going through some changes in
port coverage and rotation effective March 27, and the JIE will be newly
introduced as of March 28. Four ships are deployed on this service,ranging in
size from 2,500-2,900 TEU and operated by NYK and fellow Japanese shipping line
"K" Line.
The revised port rotation for the JIS is Tokyo, Yokohama,
Shimizu, Yokkaichi, Nagoya, Kobe, Manila, Singapore, Port Kelang, Jakarta,
Singapore, Hong Kong and back to Tokyo.
The upgraded JIE service calls at Osaka, Nagoya, Shimizu,
Tokyo, Yokohama, Singapore, Jakarta, Singapore, Manila and back to Osaka.
The carrier said the introduction of these services will
enhance its network and market presence in the growing Indonesian market.
