SINGAPORE's Neptune
Orient Lines (NOL),
parent company of G6 Alliance member APL, announced, together with other G6
Alliance members, that APL will fulfil its duties to the alliance
throughout 2016.
That
statement is made in light of the expected acquisition of NOL by CMA CGM, the
leading member of the Ocean 3 alliance, which was expected
to absorb APL, or at least its assets, after the completion of the take-over
which first must win regulatory approval.
"Until
there is further development, the G6 Alliance assures that its current service
structure will remain stable, and expects to operate as aligned through
2016," said the joint statement.
Members of
the G6 Alliance stay committed in offering reliable shipping services that meet
the needs of customers. G6 members are APL, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine,
MOL. NYK and OOCL.
