KERRY Logistics Group, headquartered in Hong Kong, is
setting up a new joint venture in Singapore with Meridian Shipping Services
Group (MSSG) to tap rising demand for high-quality containers.
Under the agreement, the company, formally branded Meridian Container Brokers Pte Ltd (member of MSSG), is to be renamed Kerry Meridian Container Brokers Pte Ltd. The JV is intended to create synergies between the container liner business of MSSG and the global logistics and freight expertise of Kerry Logistics.
Based in Singapore, Kerry Meridian will be chiefly engaged in the buying/selling, one-way and leasing of containers and special equipment in the Asia Pacific region, a joint statement said.
Headquartered in Singapore, MSSG is a shipping services provider, whose core
business is container liner agency and port agency services, specializing in
the South East Asia trade. Other value-added businesses of MSSG include NVOCC,
freight forwarding, ship broking, container shipping logistics software
distributorship and container liner management consultancy services. With 350
staff, the group has set up owned offices in Singapore, Myanmar, Thailand,
Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Malaysia, the Philippines and Sri
