Mrs Ane Maersk Mc-Kinney Uggla, youngest daughter of Emma
and Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller, today christened the world’s largest container
ship in a ceremony held at DSME Shipbuilding, Okpo, South Korea.
She named the new 18,270 teu vessel MAERSK MC-KINNEY
MOLLER in honour of her father. Mr Moller, who passed away last year, was a
former APM-Maersk Group CEO and long time chairman of the board. He was the son
of Maersk-founder Arnold Peter Moller. The new MAERSK MC-KINNEY MOLLER will
officially be handed over in two week’s time and the ship will phase into
Maersk Line’s Far East to Europe and Scandinavia loop AE-10.
