INCHCAPE
Shipping Services (ISS), a leading maritime, cargo
and supply provider, has announced the appointment of Peter Nielsen as vice
president for Africa.
Mr Nielsen, with extensive experience in West Africa
where he was a director of OBT shipping for over 10 years, recently joined ISS
and will assist senior vice president David Mackay in Mombasa to run operations
across the region.
Mr Nielsen has worked in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea
and Gambia. Before that, Peter was a MISE management trainee with AP
Moller-Maersk and worked in various departments within the Maersk before
becoming commercial manager and acting general manager for the group in
Mozambique.
Said Mr Mackay: "We welcome Peter on board and look
forward to the support and experience he will bring which will greatly assist
the ambitious growth plans ISS is developing for Africa."
Inchcape Shipping Services has 300 proprietary offices in
67 countries, and a workforce of over 3,900, the company's diverse global
customer base now includes owners and charterers in the oil, cruise, container
and bulk commodity sectors as well as naval, government and intergovernmental
organisations.
ISS provides landside commercial and humanitarian
logistics, transit, offshore support, informational and other associated marine
services. The company also provides outsourcing services including global crew
and marine spares logistics; port hub agency management and sophisticated
enterprise resource planning solutions through its subsidiary ShipNet.
