CKYHE Alliance
shipping lines, Coscon, "K"Line, Yang Ming, Hanjin Shipping and Evergreen Line, are to
restructure their service network on the Asia-US east coast trades lanes.
The
partners will operate five Asia-US east coast services - AWE1, AWE3, AWE4, AWE8, and
NUE
- from early June. The services have been re-designed to provide "optimum
port coverage" from Asia to the US east coast with AWE1/AWE3/NUE
services upsized, while the AWE4/AWE8 services have been re-structured to
"enhance the competitiveness of the alliance".
Meanwhile,
CKYHE Alliance members have reconfirmed their current cooperation on the
related East and West trades (Asia-North Europe services/Asia-Mediterranean
services/Asia-US east coast services/Asia-US west coast services, and
transatlantic service), saying they will remain unchanged.
A
statement issued by "K"Line said the alliance "will continuously
offer great and stable service quality to customers to meet with customers
demand until the end of March in 2017 by enhancing service
efficiency, providing fast transit time and offering more flexible port-pair
options".
The
port rotation of the Asia-US east coast service (AWE1) is
Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, New York, Wilmington, Savannah, Busan and
Ningbo. This service uses nine 6,500-TEU vessels.
The
AWE3
calls: Hong Kong, Shenzhen-Yantian, Kaohsiung, Shanghai, Busan, Colon,
Savannah, Charleston, Norfolk, Singapore and Hong Kong. It deploys ten
8,500-TEU vessels.
The
AWE4,
with ten
8,500-TEU ships, calls at Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, New York, Boston,
Norfolk and, Qingdao.
The
AWE8
(ten 8,500-TEU vessels) calls at Xiamen, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong,
Shenzhen-Yantian, Singapore, New York, Norfolk, Savannah, Colon, Xiamen.
And
the NUE
is also operated with ten 8,500-TEU box ships on the
following port rotation of: Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Colon, Savannah,
Charleston, Baltimore, New York, Colon and Qingdao.
