FRENCH
shipping giant CMA CGM has signed an agency, husbandry and NOx reporting
agreement with GAC Norway for its ships calling at Oslo, reports the American
Journal of Transportation.
"The
signing of this contract with CMA CGM Scandinavia represents an important
element in our strategy to establish GAC Norway as the provider of choice for
agency and husbandry services," said GAC's country cargo manager Stig Pedersen.
Said
Gothenberg-based CMA CGM vessel operations manager Sara Henriksson: "CMA
CGM has enjoyed a long-term relationship with GAC for many years, perhaps most
notably in Saudi Arabia where they provided liner agency services and more
recently in Dubai."
Its
weekly service links the Scandinavian ports of Oslo,
Moss, Brevik and Gothenburg with the CMA CGM hub in
Rotterdam and beyond to its global network.
GAC
Norway has been appointed to meet the needs of CMA CGM vessels for agency,
husbandry and mandatory NOx reporting at Oslo, the country capital and home to
its largest port.
The
first port call under the new deal took place on February 9 when the feeder
vessel the 440-TEU Pengalia called at Sjursoya Container Terminal to discharge
and load cargo.
