[240120.EN.BIZ] CEVA Shakes Up Senior Executive Line-up as Part of Restructuring

FRANCE's CMA CGM Group is undergoing a major restructuring in a bid to return CEVA Logistics to profitability, one year after it launched a tender offer for CEVA Logistics.

After an initial transitional phase of reorganisation, which made it possible to deploy new processes and define an ambitious strategy for a return to profitability, CEVA Logistics is implementing its second phase of development.

This business plan is based on several strategic axes: development of new products, development of the network in Africa and Southeast Asia, digitisation, investment in IT tools particularly in freight management.

To accompany this second phase of its development, CEVA Logistics has re-organised its senior management and includes the departure of CEO Nicolas Sartini.

CMA CGM Group chief executive officer Rodolphe Saade said: "I would like to thank Nicolas Sartini for having successfully accompanied the first phase of CEVA's transformation. Thanks to his recognised expertise and leadership and to his strengthened team, Mathieu Friedberg will successfully complete the second phase of the strategic plan."

The new CEO, Mathieu Friedberg, was previously the senior vice president commercial and agencies network at the CMA CGM Group. In addition, he was previously the CEO of Delmas and CMA CGM Logistics, prior to the acquisition of CEVA Logistics.

Guillaume Col has been appointed chief operating officer. He was previously general manager for France and north Africa at Kuehne Nagel.

Michel Foulon will take over as chief information officer. He previously held the same position at CMA CGM.

Frederic Obala takes on the newly created position of director of transformation and digital. He has extensive experience in business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) functions in the retail, technology and media sectors.

Gaultier de La Rochebrochard has been named the new general counsel. He held the same position in several multinational companies including GL Events and Norbert Dentressangle groups.
