[150219.EN.SEA] Yilport Holding Sees Container Volumes Rise 5pc to 6.41m TEU in 2018


WORLDWIDE terminals owned by Yilport Holding handled 6.41 million TEU in 2018, representing year-on-year growth of five per cent, with the group's facilities in Latin American recording container throughput growth of 23 per cent over 2017 to stand at 380,276 TEU last year.

The Turkey-based terminal operator operates 21 sea ports in nine countries.

Its terminals in Turkey - Yilport Gebze and Yilport Gemlik - recorded an 11 per cent year-on-year increase, handling 554,223 TEU and 524,652 TEU respectively, reported American Shipper.

The Iberian terminal of Yilport Leixoes saw volumes rise by six per cent to 660,835 TEU despite overall Iberian container volume growth remaining flat.

The company's terminals in Sweden and Norway registered volume growth of two per cent to 474,535 TEU, while general cargo volumes in the region expanded by eight per cent to 2.22 million tonnes.
