[EN-SEA] "Global Operators" Revise Their Coverage

The Grand Alliance will launch a new Asia-Europe loop on March 22nd; MOL will revise coverage on its Asia East Coast - South America service on March 25th; and CCNI, Hanjin Shipping, Hapag-Lloyd, Wanhai and Zim will cooperate on an Asia - South America East Coast service from April.

Grand Alliance members Hapag-Lloyd, Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) and Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) will launch a new service loop on the Asia - North Europe trade.

The new service, Loop D, will be jointly operated by the Grand Alliance and the New World Alliance carriers (APL, HMM and MOL).

Loop D will begin service on March 22nd with ten 6,000 TEU vessels, which will partially reinstate some of the previously withdrawn capacity in response to increasing customer demand.

The port rotation of the new service is: Qingdao > Shanghai > Shekou > Yantian > Singapore > Suez > Port Said > Le Havre > Southampton > Rotterdam > Hamburg > Port Said > Suez > Singapore > Chiwan > Shekou > Qingdao in a seventy-day round trip.

The first eastbound call will be end-April.

MOL has revised coverage on its Asia East Coast - South America (CSW) service, adding an additional call at Xingang, Dalian, Qingdao, Pusan and Shanghai.

The revised port rotation is: Xingang > Dalian > Qingdao > Pusan > Shanghai > Hong Kong > Singapore > Durban > Santos > Buenos Aires > Montevideo > Paranagua > Sao Francisco Do Sul > Santos > Rio de Janeiro > Cape Town > Ngqura > Singapore > Hong Kong > Xingang.

The new service rotation will go into effect on March 25th.

CCNI, Hanjin Shipping, Hapag-Lloyd, Wanhai and Zim will cooperate on a new Asia - South America East Coast service, effective April.

The service will serve Korea, Central and South China, Singapore, South Africa, Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina.

The new weekly service will deploy eleven 4,200 TEU vessels: three each from Hanjin and Zim, two each from CCNI and Wanhai, one from Hapag-Lloyd, plus slot purchase from other lines.
