Alexander Maersk was allowed to dock in the port of
Pozzalo in Scilia, a container vessel that saved 100 refugees on Italy's
openings.
Italy's new government has called on the aid vessels to
help refugees on the Mediterranean coasts close their ports and share the
immigrants saved by the European Union from the sea.
The cargo ship of Maersk Line, a Danish maritime shipping
company, was waiting on Sicilian openings since Alexander Maersk was not
directed to any port since Friday.
Pozzallo Mayor Roberto Ammatuna said that Danish
Immigration Minister Ingar Stöjberg wrote a letter to the Interior Minister
Matteo Salvini for permission, confirming that Salvini entered the gates.
Italian doctor Vincenzo Morello, who welcomed Lima
immigrants, reported that immigrants who were on board for several days were
tired, some had skin inflammation, and some immigrants had a spinal problem.
650 thousand migrants have entered Italy since 2014.
