CHINA reportedly asked the US to lift sanctions against
China COSCO Shipping, at this week's Washington talks to end the trade war,
according to sources familiar with the matter, reports Bloomberg.
Officials were to raise issue of penalties against the
Dalian units of China's biggest shipping company, after it was accused of
knowingly violating restrictions on carrying Iranian petroleum.
Penalties bar American citizens and entities from dealing
with such firms, blocking them from US banks. Cosco, the National Development
and Reform Commission and Ministry of Commerce declined comment when asked.
