SINOTRANS (Hong Kong) Ltd has been around in one form or another for 60 years and is still going strong because it provides clients with secure, speedy, accurate, cost-saving transport and logistics.

Hong Kong-listed Sinotrans does this through providing integrated logistics, terminal operations, forwarding, feedering, warehousing, trucking, shipping agency, customs clearance and logistics services.

It is a wholly owned regional subsidiary of Sinotrans Limited registered and operating in Hong Kong. An integrated logistics service enterprise, it also provides a business and investment platform of Sinotrans Limited in Southeast Asia.

In short, Sinotrans is one of the largest logistics companies in China, also providing support services including storage and terminal services, trucking and marine transportation.

Under its present name, the company was incorporated in 2002 and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2003 as a vehicle for the core business, assets and staff of the state-owned China National Foreign Trade Transportation (Group) Corporation.

In 2009 the company was reorganised together with the China Changjiang National Shipping (Group) Corporation (CSC) to form Sinotrans&CSC Holdings.

The merger with China Merchants Group received approval from the State Council of the People's Republic of China in December 2015, and by April 2017 Sinotrans Limited (and its former subsidiary Sinotrans Shipping) had become direct subsidiaries of China Merchants Group.

Not surprisingly much of its business is conducted in bordering Guangdong Province where it has been for 60 years.

Based on the strategic facilities that Sinotrans operates in South China, such as river terminals, depots, warehouses, fleets of barges and trucks, Sinotrans is further strengthened by robust integrated logistics capabilities by building up water and overland service networks.
