[EN-SEA] HKSG Media's 2010 Supply and Demand Conference

HKSG MEDIA is hosting 'Supply and Demand 2010-2012 New Horizons' at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on June 30, 2010.
Conference topics will include managing the supply overhang both today and in the coming years; meeting shippers' expectations in a industry that faces many new realities; supply chain cooperation for mutual gain; the future of shipping conferences in Asia and rest of the world; and will the shipping industry see a return to the high demand growth of years gone by?

The event will be attended by the senior executives from carriers and forwarders, shippers and consignees, investment banks, and trade bodies.

Conference speakers include Philip Chow (chief executive officer of Orient Overseas Container Line); Soren Karas (vice president, South China and Hong Kong, Maersk Line); Claude Lebel ( senior vice president of CMA CGM (Asia).

Tom Kim (Goldman Sachs); Roger Tupper (director of the Hong Kong Marine Department), Sean Goff (general manager-Asia CN Rail); Jonathan Beard (managing director of GHK Hong Kong), Eric Ip (managing director of Hutchison International Terminals).

Hugh Cushing (hief executive officer of Toll Global Forwarding), Sunny Ho (executive director of the Hong Kong Shippers' Council) and Nicolette van der Jagt (secretary general of the European Shippers' Council).

In the wake of the worst downturn to affect the container shipping industry in over half a century with the market losing a collective US$20 billion last year, 2010 marks a new beginning and presents an opportunity to take what was learned from those dark times to return to profit again.

At Supply and Demand 2010-2012 'New Horizons' leading industry figures will come together to discuss and debate the most pressing issues facing the container shipping sector this year as the industry recovers from the global financial crisis.

"This year's event marks the third in our series of Supply and Demand conferences in Asia and promises to be our biggest and most exciting event to date," said conference organisers.
