[280814.EN.BIZ] Kalmar's Latest Gloria Reachstackers Make Asia-Pacific Debut in Shanghai

CARGOTEC unit Kalmar has launched its fifth generation of Gloria reachstackers into the Asia-Pacific market with a presentation in Shanghai following their introduction in Europe, the company announced.

With 30 models, the Gloria series reachstackers are designed to meet the demands of container, intermodal, barge and industrial handling, providing high productivity, operator comfort, safety and cost-efficiency, Kalmar said.

Kalmar also claimed it has taken productivity and fuel-efficiency to new levels with a 45-tonne lift capacity and a capability to stack boxes six high (five high on the intermodal).

"A choice of three ECO driving modes; power, normal and economy; means that up to 20 per cent fuel savings can be achieved. The automatic stop/start function can also result in a 10 per cent fuel savings," said the company statement.

The equipment also features side tilting steering wheel and joystick control also contributes to making Gloria the most operator-friendly reachstacker, reducing fatigue, improving manoeuvrability and enhancing productivity.

The cabin offers 90 per cent all-round visibility in bad weather and features a head-up display with LED indicators, electronic climate control and a human machine interface, which combine to improve the operator's experience, said the company.

Said Kalmar vice president Dan Pettersson: "This machine is without doubt a milestone in reachstacker design with numerous features that enhance productivity and reduces cost of ownership."
