[100213.EN.SEA] Amur 2521 Collides With High Speed Ferry In Istanbul


River vessel Amur-2521, Belize Flag, 115 metres, coming from Georgia, Batumi and  bound for Ravenna, Italy collided with a local high speed ferry this afternoon.

7 passengers from the Turkish ferry  injured and 2 of them are seriously injured, according to the latst news received by SeaNews.

Reason of the accident is yet unknown.
2 Passenger seriously injured

2 of them came to the knowledge that the status of the passengers injured in serious, but information not verified.

Amur-2521 was trying to pass the perilous waterway without the assistance of a local pilot, despite strong recommendadtion of International Maritime Association.

Coast Guard on the scene

Depending on the scene immediately after the accident, the pilot and tug DGCS transferred and fast rescue boats took the necessary safety precautions.

Amur-2521's ship crashed, the pilot under the General Directorate of Coastal Safety Ahırkapı by Murat Ertem anchored at Ahirkapi anchorage..

Calling for help and fast rescue boats tug at Yeditepe-1 was accompanied by sea bus.
